Repair of a Louvred Sieve for a Combine Harvester – Step by Step

Louvred sieves in combine harvesters work under very hard conditions – they are exposed to heavy loads and vibrations. Even the highest-quality sieves can damaged or wear out over time. Does it mean you have to buy a new one? Not necessarily! In many cases, regeneration is possible, restoring the sieve’s functionality and significantly reducing costs.

In our latest video, we show the stages of louvred sieve regeneration. If you want to see how the repair process looks – we invite you to watch.

Steps of louvred sieve regeneration:

  1. Dismantle steering mechanism.
  2. Remove steering mechanism moulding cover.
  3. Remove damaged wires with lamellas – you can cut them out or pull them out.
  4. Fit new wires – they consist of two parts: with U-bend and straight.
  5. Install control moulding.
  6. Weld wires in the appropriate places.
  7. Install steering mechanism.
  8. Close sieve.
  9. Weld lamellas to the wires in the closed position.
  10. Protect sieve against corrosion (e.g., with zinc spray).
  11. Done! 😊

⚠Attention!
You should replace not only wires that are completely worn out, but also those that are significantly loose.

Do you need parts for regeneration?

At OSKO-PLAST you can buy all the necessary components:

Lamellas CZ1 (tooth 10 mm), CZ2 (tooth 22 mm), CZ3 (tooth 32 mm), CZ4 (tooth 43 mm) and LDW (High-Efficiency Lamella – semi-round with C-shaped plate bent downward ). Made of 0.9 mm sheet metal, length 320 mm – they allow you to adjust the length of the lamellas and the “teeth” to your sieve.

Wires for louvred sieves (Ø4 mm). Regeneration wire consists of a cranked part and a straight part.
IMPORTANT! Check the wire crank in your sieve. We offer wires with bends (measured together with wire thickness – see drawing) of 18, 24 and 28 mm.

We offer components for the regeneration of sieves for all brands and models of combine harvesters. You can buy parts and do regeneration yourself or entrust us with complete repair.
